I use Better now and then, but the activities feel a bit limited. It’s mostly the same classes every week, and there isn’t much that works for me after work unless you’re into the gym or swimming. Some centres are def better than others, but my local one gets boring quick. Staff are fine, I just wish there was more going on for what you pay

I signed up to Better a few months ago thinking it would be decent value, but over time I’ve started to feel like it’s a bit expensive for what you actually get. The gym near me is busy most evenings, and there have been machines out of order for weeks, which gets frustrating when you’re trying to stick to a routine. I tried a few classes in my first month and they were fine, but getting a space can be a hassle and the times don’t always work around my schedule. For the monthly price, I expected things to run a bit more smoothly. It’s not awful, but after giving it a fair go, I don’t think it’s really worth it for me.

I’ve been going to my local Better centre for a while now and it’s always clean and well looked after. The changing rooms seem to get checked often and if anything is broken it usually gets sorted quickly. The staff are friendly too so no complaints from me.

Booking my gym was straightforward and the site did what I needed it to do, but I definitely noticed it lagging at times. It wasn’t a huge deal, but the slow moments were a bit annoying and made the experience feel less smooth than it should’ve been.

In the end, it was fine. The place was clean enough, which I appreciated, but it did feel a bit cold and not especially cozy. Still, it did the job and I didn’t have any major issues

I’d heard people say the instructors here were really good, and after going to a few classes I feel like that was totally right. They explain everything in a way that actually makes sense, and they don’t make you feel awkward for being new or asking questions. The whole place has a friendly, easygoing vibe, which just confirms what I already thought after the first class. I actually look forward to going now.

I’ve been using Better for my kid’s swimming lessons, and the progress tracking is really useful. I can quickly see what stage they’re on, what they’ve passed, and what still needs a bit more work without having to keep asking the instructor every week.

The only thing that can be a little frustrating is waiting for the lesson updates to come through, especially when you’re keen to know if they’re ready to move up. Still, once it updates, it’s clear and easy to understand, and it definitely saves a lot of guessing. Overall, really handy and I’d still give it 5 stars.

I was charged the wrong amount after making my booking, and getting the refund sorted took way longer than it should have. The staff did eventually help, but I felt ignored while waiting for updates. The payment system really needs to be fixed so people don’t have to chase things like this

Overall it’s a good centre. The staff are friendly and the place is kept clean, which I appreciate. Only downside is it gets packed after work, so it can be hard to get on the equipment you want. Not a bad spot, just maybe avoid peak times if you can.

Booking is straightforward too, which makes a big difference when you’re planning around kids. Definitely a place I feel confident recommending to other families

Well... I ended up canceling my Better membership, and it was mostly straightforward. I had to poke around a little to find the right page, but once I got there, the form was simple to fill out and the confirmation came through quickly. The only downside is that the cancel option could definitely be easier to find. Other than that, it wasn’t much of a hassle

The lifts were out of order way too often again!!! It got frustrating having to deal with it more than once, especially when you’re just trying to get where you need to go!!!

There was plenty of parking, honestly. it just got Busy after work, but still not bad at all

Booked a swim session on better.org.uk and it was straightforward overall. The pages loaded fine and the confirmation came through quickly. The only slightly annoying bit was finding the right time slot, which took more clicking around than needed and felt a bit unnecessary. Still, it was a good experience and I’d use it again.

The classes are good and I usually can find one open, so that’s nice. But after work it gets busy, like a lot more than other times, so it’s better to book early if you can.

I’ve been going to my local Better leisure centre for swimming for a while now, and I’ve always felt really safe there.
The lifeguards actually pay attention, they’re not just stood around chatting or looking bored. I’ve seen them step in quickly when kids are getting a bit too silly or when someone seems unsure in the water.
It really does make a difference, especially when the pool is busy. It feels well supervised without being awkward or over the top, definitely 5 stars from me
